Scorex2

What an awesome night at hockey. Not only did I play better than I ever had, I got 2 goals.

Wahoo! Way to go!

Considering this was only the third time I have played I thought I was doing pretty good tonight. Not only with the scoring, but passing as well.

Tonight was definitely my night!

Joy of Work

There are those moments of sheer happiness, contentment, and satisfaction with one's work. This weekend was definitely one of those times.

I had the opportunity (and I say opportunity because I actually wouldn't have spent my weekend any other way) to deliver a seminar to directors of the co-op yesterday and today. Every year, FCL has their Annual General Meeting where directors from various co-ops across Western Canada attend to learn about how well FCL is doing. I guess the directors have a right to know if we are making money or not!

We put on a variety of seminars that the delegates can attend, and my group this year was fantastic. I facilitated "Working Effectively with Others". We have based this seminar soley around the "Insight Inventory" - which is a self-assessment/personality test of sorts.

I had such a good response from the group. It felt really good to be able to provide them with my knowledge, and experience. They also taught me some things about individuals and how to best work with different personalities.

I find that experiences like this one is what makes work worthwhile. When I can brighten someones day, pass along my knowledge, ideas, experiences, or opinions, or just be a good listener to others - that is when I know that what I am doing is making a difference is someone's life.

It feels good to be appreciated, and thanked for all the hardwork that you put in. I got a number of good comments on my ability as a leader/teacher, and received a round of applause at the end of the day.

What a day - I am on such a high!

Envy

We said goodbye to a co-worker at work yesterday. We like to honour of fellow employees in our department by having a going away lunch. If you haven't been to Rembrandt's in the Senator Hotel, I highly recommend it.

Her last day is going to be on Monday, and I am going to really miss her. I got to spend a lot of time with Wanda this summer when I helped out in the front office with recruiting. We had a lot of fun together, including Penny.

The three of us have pretty much been talking about how we want to get outta there, and into something different. Wanda is actually returning to the company she used to work for, and Penny and I are desperately hoping something will come up in our field.

Though envious, I am really happy for Wanda, and her new opportunity. I sure hope that my interview goes well on Monday - maybe I will have a new opportunity to speak of soon.

Cowtown

I spent the week in Calgary for work, and it was beautiful. Temperatures were on the plus side all week - I think it got up to +9 on Wednesday.

My seminar classes were great, and the people were awesome. I had some pretty small groups, and I actually like that I little better because you get a lot more participation from the class and it becomes a little more personal and relaxed. It was a good week for work!

I saw my best friend Jennifer and her boyfriend Chad on Monday night for supper and a short visit. I hadn't seen Jen since the beginning of December and was starting to miss her terribly. When she first moved to Calgary about 7 years ago I was really sad, and I missed her a lot. You tend to get that way when you have been friends as long as we have (25yrs). I eventually I got use to it, and seeing each other a couple times a year, and phoning on a regular basis became the norm. However, since I have had my job with Federated Co-op I have been able to see Jen just about once a month for the past 3 years. So this was the longest stretch between visits. Anyways, back to my week in Calgary.

Tuesday was quiet - dinner with an friend from Calgary Co-op, and a little City of Heroes. I now have Neuba up to Lvl 10. I just need to learn how not to die, and team up with people that can help me with that.

I had a blast hanging out with Ben on Wednesday. We went shopping to furnish his home, and did pretty well at The Brick - buying a bed, sofa and loveseat. We had a great dinner at the Metropolitan Grill on 17th Ave, and good talk about life, love, and relationships. We finished off the evening with a big trek up to the NW to a specialty liquor store so Ben could buy obscene amounts of wine. All in all it was a great way to spend my last night in Cowtown, and see Ben. We miss you Ben!

I am a Sucker!

I vowed at the end of American Idol last year that I would never watch it again. So much for that promise.

By the time it got to the bottom 10 last year, it was pretty much a popularity contest, and the public wasn't voting on musical talent. That just ticks me off. If you are going to have a talent show you should be basing your votes on the talent they possess.

The beginning audition episodes of American Idol are always enetertaining and I couldn't resist this year - still promising myself that I wouldn't get sucked in, and I would stop watching the moment the public got involved in the process. Once again, so much for that promise.

Tonight was the first chance the public had to vote, and they had the final 12 males performing. Next week are the final 12 women. I have already got a couple favorites - Mario Vazquez is definitely the one to watch, however Anwar Robinson was pretty amazing as well.

For those of you who read my blog, I will not punish you with more American Idol posts, as I am going to try as hard as possible not to watch anymore.

Stupid hotel rooms with nothing better to do than watch crappy reality TV.

Party On Dude!

Last night we hosted another awesome party. It wasn't as large as it usually is, but it was a good time.

Carla showed up early - around 8:30, and we had a good visit with her before everyone else showed up. She was off to work at the 7-11 for her 10pm-5am. Sucky!

Around 9:00pm everyone else started to trickle in. Brennan and Tyson showed up with beer, Sky & Terry came with Zeda, and Amy & Suzi arrived with their bathing suits in tow.

It didn't take long before Amy & Suzi joined Carla in the hot tub, and the rest of us enjoyed a riveting game of Hoopla.

Sky & Terry brought Hoopla - and interactive game of providing clues in order to guess the Who, What or Where item on the cards. What made the game fun was the four ways in which you could provide the clues:
Soundstage - requires you to use gestures and sound effects only
Tweener - must phrase clues using "its bigger than a ..... but smaller than a"
Tongues Tied - using alliterations
Cloodle - required you to draw

There were definitely some moments to remember - Sky's rendition of Mick Jagger was awesome, it took me about 2 seconds to guess who it was. Tyson did an great job of portraying Lance Armstrong, and Amy's 7-11 clue was quite unique and creative. All in all, everyone seemed to have a great time.

Denis & Deb joined the party in the midst of our Hoopla game, as did Duncan, Alan, and Quinn.

With a quick break after Hoopla, it was onto another game. Kaiser was next, and Deb & I teamed up against Sky and Alan. Sky & Alan whooped our butts, but we definitely made it interesting with our team winning a couple of "No" hands. When it comes to Kaiser I rarely bet, I usually leave it up to my partner, and when I do bet someone usually ends up taking the bet away from me. So without having much success in betting, or even achieving the bet, I was very impressed with making the "No" hands. Yeah Marcia!

By the time Kaiser was over it was about 12:30am, and I hadn't had a chance to visit the hot tub. Tyson, Quinn, and Duncan had been enjoying it since the end of the Hoopla game and I was ready to partake.

It was a little chilly out, but the hot tub was warm and comforting. It had definitely gone down a lot in temperature, due to it being used for a number of hours. We currently have it set at 104, however it was only at 101 when I got in.

The guys were definitely enjoying themselves, as the yard was littered with beer bottles. It is going to be interesting cleaning up the lawn in the spring. How much partying did go on in the winter?

Brennan rejoined us in the hot tub, and Quinn left. Shortly after, someone - I think Brennan - had the bright idea of jumping in the snow and then returning to the tub. What the hell I thought - how bad could it be. We all got out - Brennan, Tyson, Duncan and myself and quickly headed for the snow. Just as I thought that I was cold enough Brennan tackled me, and I went down - cold and covered in snow. I headed back to the tub as quickly as possible - Brennan wasn't as lucky, as Tyson came up behind him and tackled him. Within a minute, we were all safely back in the hot tub. Now you wouldn't think the cold would be that bad, as you get right back into the hot tub. But if you can imagine having rub burn over your entire body - that is pretty much what it felt like for the next 10-15 minutes. Not sure if I will ever do that again.

Once the burning subsided we retired to the basement and watched Joe Dirt. Duncan, Quinn, and Brennan had never seen the movie, so I decided to enlighten them with some white trash entertainment. I think my favorite part of that whole movie is Christopher Walken - he is so creepy, even in a comedy like Joe Dirt.

By 3:00am everyone was pretty zonked. Duncan and Quinn left, and Tyson & Brennan crashed for the night.

Good times were had by all!

Openminded

I was able to spend some time with a friend I haven't seen in a long time last night, and it was really awesome. I really do miss my close friends when they aren't around.

We had a very open and frank discussion on the many different relationships that people have with one another, and how society views those different relationships.

I really like it when I get the chance to speak openly about my thoughts and ideas (though different from the norm sometimes) and not be judged or ridiculed. I find there is a certain level of comfort that I have with people that allow the free flow of ideas. Not a lot of people are comfortable talking about certain topics like - love, politics, religion, societal norms.

When you have an open mind you have a amazing opportunity to learn new things.

Early Morning Sunrise

This morning's scene was a tranquil sunrise with blues, yellows, pinks and oranges. What a sight!!!

As I headed out to Humboldt for todays session, the sunrise was a beautiful sight to watch for the hour drive. A much better sunrise than yesterdays.

Once again - thought about life, and then thought some more. However today was a little more about venting some built up angry, frustration, pain, and hurt. You won't find me shouting out loud or banging my fists on the steering wheel - I sorta just let it all out in my head.

Thinking about those things in my life that are currently causing me heartache, or anger & frustration I feel towards people prevents me from bottling it all up. It is definitely a release for me, I find.

I helps me think clearer about situations. If I can get the negative out, it helps me focus on more postive outcomes & actions. I would have to say that I am generally an optimistic person, and I find that is what others see. The time I spend reflecting and venting allows me to be that optimistic individual.

I am definitely one tired girl. After a weeks worth of training, early mornings, driving, and life contemplation, I could definintely use some sleep - which I plan on doing a lot of this weekend. I am looking forward to taking tomorrow off for some much needed r&r.

Reflection

Today was an early morning for me - up at 5:30am to hit the road by 6:00 am and head out to Tisdale for my seminar today.

Everyone at work thinks that I am a little crazy for getting up so early and driving such a long way, and then having to repeat the drive at the end of the day. I do agree that it makes for a long work day - 12 hrs to be exact, but I do really enjoy it.

When I have those long drives, I really like to reflect on life. Especially on a early morning like today. You put in your favorite music, watch the sunrise, and contemplate life. I tend to use these opportunities to reflect on all of the things that are happening in my life - friends, family, relationships, work, what seems to be going right, or wrong, what, if anything I would like to change about myself, my environment - or simply thinking about all the possible choices that could be made right now in my life.

I find that it is good therapy for myself to think about the possibilities in and my life. It gives me thoughts and ideas to draw upon when I am faced with difficult life decisions. It helps me make the choices that are right for me, and helps me feel certain about the choices I am making. Plus I get a nice calm, peaceful environment to do my thinking.

Watching the sunrise, listening to the Lord of the Rings soundtrack, and driving was the best way to spend my morning - even if it was way to early.

a frustrating sunday

I was looking forward to playing a little City of Heroes when Rob called this afternoon - however my excitement soon turned into frustration.

For some reason my laptop didn't want to connect to the City of Heroes game or their website - wierd?. My internet connection was working just fine for everything else, except City of Heroes. As for my sidekick, his game, login, and website seemed to be functioning just perfectly.

The game was put on hold until I could figure things out. I proceed to spend the remainder of my afternoon (4 hours to be exact) trying to figure out the problem.

There were a few phone calls to the computer experts - Brennan & Kevin - and I even stumped them. Nobody could figure it out.

Nearing the end of the afternoon, I seemed to isolate the issue to our Linksys router. The only reason being that when I unplugged the router, and connected the laptop directly to our shaw modem everything seemed to work peachy keen. Huh - what?? Ya, I know - doesn't make too much sense.

By 6:30 I gave up and retired to the hot tub for some de-stressing - didn't work.

Around 7:30 I decided to give it another try on the laptop - what the hell, hey. Of course, miraculously it work! Imagine that. I guess that is technology for you.

We will see if it happens again. And I won't be a happy camper if it does!

Diva's Drag Show

Last night I went to Diva's for their annual drag show with Brennan & Laura. I had never been to Diva's before, so it was an experience for me. You see all kinds of people there - I guess I didn't really know what to expect. I had the opportunity to attend last years drag show with Brennan, but it was at Louis on campus. It was good as well - but I think I enjoyed this years just a little bit more.

The show was a little slow getting started - about an hour late, but once it got started it was great. Some of those drag queens/kings are real entertainers.

I find it amazing how elaborate the dresses, hair-dos, and make-up is - they really go all out to make it the best show ever. Some of the drag queens look better than me - that just isn't fair.

Diva's isn't that big of a night club - so we ended upstairs, and had to look over the balcony to see the show. It wasn't the best arrangement, but it worked. They played really good music, but our location in the club sort of limited the dancing. I didn't really get any dancing in, but it was nice just to listen to the music, and groove a little.

It was good to get out with friends - thanks for the invite Brennan & Laura!

Good Hair Day

Well my hair appointment this morning went great. Nice and short, just the way I like it, and I am really impressed with the colour. I think that it really suits me, and it definitely brings out my eyes, and my glasses.

I might stick with the new colour. I really like it a lot, and it is definitely something different. It does get expensive, which bothers me - as most of you would already guess - I'm cheap. But we'll see.

Today's lunch Banana & Strawberry Salad with slivered almonds & sweet mayo dressing. Sided with a nice cup of Sunshine Lemon Rooibos Tea.

Unproductive Day

So far the only thing that has been slightly productive about my day has been the trip to the dentist. Only in the sense that I went - as I was reminded with a phone message from the dentist's office yesterday. I can't believe that I forget, considering I was just at the dentist a couple of weeks ago, and that is when we made the appointment for today. I had 2 fillings replaced that I have had since I was a child. There was freezing and drilling - not my favorite things to do on a early Friday morning. I am still frozen on the left side of my mouth - so much for it thawing in 2 hours. At least it is done and over with!!

My productivity at work today is nil. Not because I don't want to work, but because there is no work to do - same problem as usual. And my boss doesn't really care what I do in my office, and doesn't have any work to give me. It frustrates me to no end that I have to sit in this windowless office in a suit for 8 hours with nothing to do - especially on a nice warm Friday. Agghhhh!!!!

It is definitely time for me to move onto something different - whether it is within this organization or somewhere else. And it is not that I am not trying; I guess the right opportunity will come in time. Patience is a virtue. When it comes to me, I don't have a lot of patience - especially when frustrated for such a long period of time.

I find that I get very restless with life every 2-3 years - at least with the jobs that I have had. Every once in awhile I just need a change - even small changes can help alleviate the stress one is facing in life. I look forward to my hair appointment tomorrow - gonna make some interesting changes.

Volta

Last night I made a second character in the City of Heroes games. Her name is Volta, and she is a mutant blaster. Her powers originate from her mother, who was struck by lightning right before giving birth. She now resides in Paragon City fighting crime with her partner The Energy Ripper.

This was my first opportunity to play with someone else on a team, and it was a lot of fun. I found I didn't suck as much - then again I really have only played a tiny bit. Rob was nice enough to start a character with me that we could play and advance together, and show me the ropes of the game. We decided we would both play blasters, he is energy, and I am lightning. I am finding there is quite a bit to learn about the game - mostly in character development.

We managed to get to lvl 6 by the end of the night - 12:45am to be exact. I never could understand how Jeff could sit at his computer for hours and play - well I definitely understand now. I think Rob & I played for almost 5 hrs - I can't believe that. Well, I guess when you are having fun, time flies.

By lvl 6 I had many opportunities to add more powers, and start rounding out my character. I did die once, around lvl 5, so I had a 49 xp debt - and it was a death a could have prevented. I think I was getting a little cocky, and confident in my ability, oh and of course not really paying much attention to the strength of the baddies we were fighting - I guess I should have stayed away from that purple guy. :(

All in all, I had a terrific time playing CoH on a team. Thanks Rob!! I am definitely hooked now - those long nights in hotel rooms don't looks so grim anymore.

I look forward to playing both my characters more, and will likely make others as I get more familiar with the game.

Time for a Quiz

For those of you who are fans of Trailer Park Boys - check out this quiz on the first 3 seasons of the show.

I only got 7/10, however I should've got 8-9 and not second guessed myself.

Enjoy!

(Obviously I am super busy at work - can't you tell)

City of Heroes

Well I finally was able to install, setup, and play City of Heroes tonight. It was a frustrating procress, however it seems worth the effort.

I have called my character neuba (what else?). It was really cool designing the character - even though she doesn't really look like a superhero.

I made it through the tutorial fairly slowly; which was good for me. Due to my unpleasant experience with World of Warcraft, it was nice to start off the game slow, and have it teach me all the basics I need to familarize myself with before getting into the real meat of the game. I am sure glad that WoW didn't taint my opinion of online mass multiplayer games.

I was able to make it to lvl 2 by the end of the tutorial, and was able to complete the first couple of missions in the actual game. However I am currently experiencing difficulty staying alive trying to rescue missing citizens. Dying isn't really my favorite part in any game - especially when you lose xp and you are almost at the next level. Firetruck! I not really feeling like rescuing those damn citizens - then again I am suppose to be playing a superhero. Best get my act together.

I attempted to hook up with a team, but was unsuccessful. Then again, I am not sure I was looking for a team properly or communicating in a way that put me out there as looking to join a team. Oh well, I am sure I will learn more as I progress in the game.

I am feeling awfully tired anyways, and cannot really bare to look at this screen any longer.

Monday Night Hockey

Today was the nightly rec hockey game and I got to join in the fun due to me being home this week. YA!!!! Being home is great cuz I get to do fun stuff like hockey - but it sucks cuz there never is enough work for me to do in the office, and I am actually spending most of my time there anyways.

There was quite a turnout, and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. I think it is good for me to get out and be involved in some extracurricular activities - it sure does get the heart rate going, and it is a lot more interesting then working out at the gym. There is that social aspect to the game as well.

I am sure that I will be feeling the pain for a few days, as that is what occurred a couple weeks ago when I played - and I have been working out at the gym for over a year now - whats up?? I guess am I just using different muscles, and at a much more intense rate. Hopefully my back & butt don't hurt as much tomorrow. It was actually difficult to get out of bed, and walk around.

Oh well - Good Times!!!

Teddy Bears

This afternoon my co-worker and I spent the afternoon previewing some training videos. To keep ourselves busy, we bring in videos from time to time to see if there is anything interesting and new for our seminars or our resource centre.

Santa's Leadership Secrets was the first video we looked at. It was animated, and quite funny - providing a good correlation between Santa's job all year round, and being a team leader in business. I guess we will see what our boss says about it. He is not much up on animated business videos - I think he is a little too serious sometimes...ok all the time.

The Bear Essentials of Business was the next, and it was fantastic. It was about the success of the Vermont Teddy Bear Company. The video showed the excitment, fun, and personal job satisfaction the employees have everyday at work. What could be better than working in a Teddy Bear factory, and being able to put smiles on peoples faces each and every day. WOW! It would be pretty hard to have a bad day at work. By the middle of the video we were ready to quit our jobs and go work for them. We'll see, maybe they will have something in my area. :)

West Coast Pics

The pictures are in.

Take a look and enjoy.

Hopefully these pictures will bring a smile to your face, considering the weather we are faced with in Saskatoon these days .

It was a beautiful time, and I can't wait to return.

    Good to be Home??

We arrived home to a winter wonderland in Saskatoon - I wasn't that impressed. Then again I had just spent a week on the west coast - I suppose some initial depression was in order.

The trip home was smooth sailing from Nanaimo to Vancouver, and Vancouver to Calgary. Once we hit Calgary the waiting began. We were only suppose to have a hour & a half layover in Calgary (which was plenty of time to grab something to eat), however due to the weather in southern Alberta and Saskatchewan all the flights were severely delayed. Air Canada tentatively rescheduled our flight for 11:20 rather than 10:15 - however 11:20 came and went and there was no indication we would be leaving anytime soon. The plane that was to take us to Saskatoon finally arrived around 1:30, and we were up and on our way about 2 am. We landed in Saskatoon around 3am, and eventually got home around 4. All in all, it was a long day.

Sorry for the complaining - sometimes I just need to vent.

Today has been a lazy day so far, and will likely continue with some exciting clothes washing. I am trying not to look outside today - I think that it will only depress me. I am sure it will be okay to live in my west coast fantasy world for a few more days - at least until I have to go back to work on Monday.

    Morning on the Harbour

Being that it was the last day on the coast, and I didn't have to work - I was ready for some relaxation.

Aside from waking up to room service knocking on the wrong door at 6:45 am, the morning has been pretty good so far.

I started off the day with a little workout in the hotel exercise room - great way to get the juices flowing for the day. I had wanted to spend part of the morning relaxing on the harbour - so we headed out for a leisurely walk along the harbour. We found a great little coffee shop - Javawocky - and stopped for breakfast and a hot drink. It was nice to just sit and drink coffee and look out onto the harbour. After breakfast we headed out to continue our walk - we walked out to one of the docks and visited with a fellow out fishing for crabs. We got the opportunity to see some crabs he had caught - cool! It has been a fairly nice day so far with just a little bit of drizzling; I think I see the sun starting to come out....yah!!!

I have been taking lots of pictures, and will post them as soon as I get the film developed. There have been some pretty spectacular shots.

As for the remainder of the day - walking throughout downtown Nanaimo checking out all the cool little shops.

I will be sad to go. Everytime I come to the west coast I never want to leave. I am sure one day I will end up staying.

Last Night on the West Coast

Today was my last day of an excellent work week in Tofino & Ucluelet, BC. It has been a great opportunity and experience to be here, and I look forward to returning again one day. The people out here are phenomenal - warm, friendly, and definitely great hosts.

We didn't waste much time getting back on the road after work today. We were en route to Nanaimo to stay for the night, and fly back to Saskatoon on Friday. It was awesome to be able to drive in the day from Ucluelet to Nanaimo. Wow, what a drive! Up the side of the mountain and back down the other. It is a pretty spectacular sight to see. I recommend the drive to anyone visiting the west coast. There are quite a few twists and turns, and you can only drive about 60 km/hr, but it is so worth it. Wonderful!

The participants in my class today were so much fun, and were really excited to be able to attend a seminar offered by the co-op. They don't really get much of an opportunity to take training, so they really enjoy it, and appreciate it when it is here. Even though the class was on customer service today we trailed off a little bit, and I got to hear some local gossip. Sarah McLachlan happens to reside in Tofino, and shops at the co-op. I thought that was pretty cool. One of the participants talks to her quite regularily when she is in the store. Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins are also frequent visitors, and there was also a story about a Donald Sutherland sighting.

We decided to meet my lawyer co-worker for supper once in Nanaimo, as he was finished his negotaitions in Ucluelet and was headed back to Saskatoon on Friday as well. I checked with the front desk for some recommendations on good places to eat, and was give the name of a local greek & itailan restuarant - Milano's. What can I say other than - it was sooooooo goooood!!!

I started off with a small plate of caesar salad - which was fantastic (and I haven't eaten caesar salad in years) - and a plate of calamari. For the main course I had the Salmon Portofino which was smothered in a Orange Mango Compote, served with garlic roasted mashed potatoes and grilled carrots & zucchni. Jeff & Evan (my co-worker) went for the Chicken Portofino which was also smothered in the Orange Mango Compote, and stuffed with scallops and mushrooms. It was quite appetizing. To top off the evening we had the Chocolate Decandence Cake - this was probably the most specatular, delicious dessert I have ever had - and I don't even like chocolate. Chocolate cake filled with a chocolate mousse, white chocolate, and milk chocolate center, covered in mango, raspberry, and chocolate sauces, and sprinkled with almonds & chocolate shavings. I don't think I need to say anymore.

All in all, it has been a good week. I am going to have to get used to the weather, cooking for myself, and eating not so well. But I will be at home, so I will be happy!

    More Good Eats

Last night Jeff & I visisted The Schooner Restaurant again. We figured it deserved another chance since Sundays' lunch was so fantastic.

I devoured my Red Snapper stuffed with crab, spinach, and brie in about 10 min. Sooo Goood!! Jeff ordered the Beef Tenderloin, which was topped with some interesting melted cheese.

We finished off the evening with some superb desserts - I had the Winter Berry Nut Crisp topped with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, and Jeff got the Molten Chocolate Cake. Very Good!!!

Tonight, we didn't dine as fancy. We went to the Eagle's Nest in Ucluelet - the local pub - and had beers and food. One of the lawyers from my office happened to be in Ucluelet for some negotiations, so he joined us at the pub when he got into town. Once again I had fish - tonight it was Cajun Seared Halibut. This fish thing is good for me, and I am really starting to get used to it. I think I need to eat more fish when I get home. I am sure the new Salmon cookbook I bought will help with that.

It has been another gloomy day on the coast...but it is still the coast. Ya!

    My Little Rant

Today's weather was once again cloudy, rainy, and cool - not very nice at all. Didn't even get a chance to walk on the beach after work because it was raining so heavily. Of course we forgot our umbrella - Duh!

I wrapped up my first seminar today. I was teaching the 2-day "Working & Communicating Effectively with Others". It went fairly good, and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. I always find it interesting how people evaluate their experience in one of my seminars. Each person gets the opportunity to rate (on a scale of 1-6) the seminar and the facilitator on such things as:
-how applicable is this to your work
    -opportunity for discussion
    -leader's knowledge
    -leader's ability
    -handouts/videos

For the most part people are either lazy and just circle the same number for each category, or they have valuable input and provide you with some good constructive comments and criticisms. However, the odd time you get a weird comment that makes no sense. Like today - one of my participants decided that this seminar didn't really apply to his work, and was more applicable to his personal life. Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't communication apply to just about every aspect of life!? Oh well, I guess everyone has their own interpretation, and learns and applies information differently to life.

I guess I just need to vent a little every once in awhile.
