A New Fave

I am definitely groovin' to this one.

Baby you pretend that things ain`t what they seem
All this tension on titlin just exactly what we should be
now I dont mind us bein some kinda casual thing
Listen all I want to do for now is have you come and take all of me.
Can you

Put your hands on my waistline
Want your skin up against mine
Move my hips to the baseline
Let me get mine you get yours.
Hang a please dont disturb sign
Put my back into a slow grind
sending chills up and down my spine
Let me get mine you get yours

If you see me with a man understand that you can`t question me
The feelings that you caught, aint my fault can`t help your jealousy
If you can handle the fact that what we have has get to be commitment free
Then we can keep this undercover lovin`comin`hidden underneath the sheets
Can you

Put your hands on my waistline
Want your skin up against mine
Move my hips to the baseline
Let me get mine you get yours
(But don`t fall in love)
Hang a please dont disturb sign
Put my back into a slow grind
sending chills up and down my spine
Let me get mine you get yours

So come on and freak my body we can get nasty, naughty
All night a private party
Gotta hit that spot just right
Work me like a 9 to 5

It ain`t about the kissin`and huggin`cause this is a physical lovin`
Straight sweatin`, our bodies are rubbin`
Gotta hit that spot just right work me like a 9 to 5

We have a physical thing
We make love, but don`t fall in love
(let me get mine you get yours)
We spend time
Just enough so you get yours and I get mine
No strings attached
I want your body,
Not your heart

Put your hands on my waistline
Want your skin up against mine
Move my hips to the baseline
Let me get mine you get yours.
Hang a please dont disturb sign
Put my back into a slow grind
sending chills up and down my spine
Let me get mine you get yours

Put your hands on my waistline
Want your skin up against mine
Move my hips to the baseline
Let me get mine you get yours.
(just don't fall inlove)
Hang a please dont disturb sign
Put my back into a slow grind
sending chills up and down my spine
Let me get mine you get yours

Come here
Don`t be shy
I won`t bite
Let me get mine, you get yours

Goodbye 20’s, Hello 30’s

Today I am 30 years young. And I do mean young. I certainly don’t *feel 30*; then again, I am not sure what *30* is suppose to feel like.

My 20’s have been exciting and tumultuous. Sometimes I wonder where all that time went, and yet I accomplished so much.

I would have to say that the last year of my 20’s was the most eventful.
• I earned a Master’s Degree
• I traveled overseas for the first time in my life
• I lived in 3 cities (Saskatoon, Oxford, Edmonton)
• I took my longest road trip.
• I got a new job.
• I said goodbye to too many close friends – old and new.

I have enjoyed my 20’s immensely and wouldn’t trade a minute of any day.

I became an aunt 3 times over; fell in love; earned my first degree; lost grandparents; got married; watched friends move away; bought my first home; partied; developed close relationships; struggled through depression; had 6 jobs; traveled all over Western Canada; got in shape; ran a triathlon; made new friends; and made mistakes.

I am sure there is more, but my brain has tapped out.

Good Times.

Today was perfect. For the first time (as far as I can remember) in 30 years it was not -40 degrees outside. Yipee. I got lunch from my co-workers, dinner from my friend, a nice gift from my parents and a wonderful surprise.

I love my birthday.

Wasting Time

I missed this song on my list of favourties in my last post. I would have to say it is at the top of my list. I could listen to this song for hours. It reminds me of a dear friend. Check out the video: lyrics are below.

I don't want to see you waiting
I've already gone too far away
I still can't keep the day from ending
No more messed up reasons for me to stay

Well this is not for real, afraid to feel
I just hit the floor, don't ask for more
I'm wasting my time, I'm wasting my time
You can't stop the feeling, there is no reason
Just make the call, and take it all
Again, wooohooo again

Months went by with us pretending
When did our light turn from green to red
I took a chance and left you standing
Lost the will to do this once again

Well this is not for real, afraid to feel
I just hit the floor, don't ask for more
I'm wasting my time, I'm wasting my time
You can't stop the feeling, there is no reason
Just make the call, and take it all
Again, wooohooo again

I see you waitin'
Look so lonely
I see you waitin'
I see you waitin'

Well this not for real, afraid to feel
I just hit the floor, don't ask for more
I'm wasting my time, I'm wasting my time
You can't stop the feeling, there is no reason
Just make the call, and take it all
I'm wasting my time, I'm wasting my ...
Well this is not for real, afraid to feel
I just hit the floor, don't ask more
I'm wasting my time, I'm wasting my time
You can't stop the feeling, there is no reason
Just make the call and take it all
Again, wooohooo again

Oh, how I missed music

I have been thinking about doing a post on music for about the last week, but haven't gotten around to doing it. After reading her recent post on music I figured I best put something down before I forget or get lazy and not bother.

Over the past couple of years I have really been absent from the world of music. I have never been one to buy a lot of records (yes, records), tapes or cds...mostly because I don't like to purchase something unless I really, really like it. So I don't really have a large collection of music, and what I do have consists of stuff I listened to from ages 12-18. Although I like to listen to that music on occasion (ok...Snoop is the exception) for nostaglic reasons, it is kinda out-dated.

So...most of the music I listen to comes from the radio. Whether it is from my morning alarm or while driving in my car.

Over the last couple of years, both of these things were missing in my life. Although I was in school I never hung around in the mornings to listen to the radio, and I was never driving anywhere.

Since I have been back at work, it has been great to be able to listen to music again. And thanks to Ril, Pandora came into my life. It is amazing....especially at work. So most of the stuff I have heard on the radio over the past month, I have been able to add to 'Marcia's Music.' It's fantastic.

When it comes to my music genre of choice, I don't have one. I like rap, R&B, rock, disco (woot!), instrumental, jazz, easy listening, and even some country. Some of my current favourite songs are:

Breathless by 40 Below Summer
Irreplaceable by Beyonce
Lips of an Angel by Hinder
Screaming Infidelities by Joanna
How we do it by Mario Vasquez
Too Little Too Late by JoJo

I am not sure what kind of music was popular over the past 2 years, but I am liking what I've heard so far in 2006/2007.

Sleepover

It has been a great couple of days hanging out with my Saskatoon/Edmonton friends. We had a sleepover last night at Bne's and we all got drunk...even Suz! It was a blast.

I am starting to realize how much I miss my friends and how lonely it can be when you don't see those who are nearest and dearest to you very often. So far, I have had the opportunity to see my friends quite a bit since I left, but I know that will change once we become settled permanently in Edmonton.

Sometimes I wish life was simplier. Why is it that happiness is one area of life always comes at a cost to another?

Sorry to be a downer...I guess I am just missing people a lot today.

Back on the Wagon

It has been almost 4 months since I last got any kind of good physical activity. I vowed that as soon as I got a job I was getting back to work on my physical fitness.

As soon as I moved to Edmonton I was checking out the local fitness facilities and decided to get a pass at the Leisure Centres in the city. I have access to 12 facilities and I can get all the swimming, squash, weights, exercise machines and drop-in classes I want. I have also got a partner to go with. I am whipping Andrea into shape and we are going to commit to at least 4 times a week.

Tonight was the first time, and we both had a good workout. It wasn't crazy, but boy did I feel good after. I even ran a bit on the treadmill. I was a bit surprised, as it has been some time since I last ran.

I am looking forward getting back into shape. This 'winter weight' really is starting to bother me.

Perhaps the Last

Our 'final' New Years Party went off without a hitch. We had a good turnout considering many of our friends have moved away. I think Jeff & I counted 19 in total.

My best friend Jen was in town for the holidays, so her and Chad came by for a couple of hours. It was great to have them. I really miss them and can't wait to spend more time with them in the future now that I will only be 2 hours from them.

The rest of us geeks probably scared them off a bit with our talk of 'holy warrior paladins' and 'figs.' But a friendly game of Scattegories seemed to return things to 'normal.'

The evening was filled was a lot of eating (thanks MFJ & everyone else who brought snackies), visiting, and the playing of more traditional games like Kaiser, Clue and Dutch Blitz.

All in all the party was a success. Although I am afraid that it may be the last of our 'big New Years Party.' With us moving away, as many others have, who knows what will happen next year.

As for some pictures, I think this is the first time I did not get the camera out at one of my parties. Jen had her camera, but there are just a bunch of silly pictures of the two of us.
