I really do love Halloween. Being able to decorate my house, dress up, and take joy in the children...it's all good!
Today was a exciting day at work. Many of my co-workers dressed up, some themed, some not. My team decided to do a 'Clue' theme. I dressed myself up as Mrs. Peacock; it was fantastic. In my blue bridesmaid dress from my BFF's wedding, a white feather boa, white gloves, a couple of peacock feathers in my flipped up hair, and of course, the wrench as my weapon...I definitely looked and felt the part. I am hoping to get some pictures from work to post, so you may see the final look. The rest of my team also looked amazing, with Prof. Plum, Mrs. White, Ms. Scarlett, Mr. Green, The Victim, the library, the kitchen, and someone even dressed up as the game, attaching the board to their back, sticking cards all over there body, and pinning a clue sheet to their head. It was awesome.
Besides the dressing-up there was a pumpkin carving contest (I didn't win, but I fun carving mine last night), a pizza lunch with cake, and costume judging. My team one best group.
As for tonight, I've got my house all decorated and I am just waiting for the little ones to show up. I am not sure how many to expect, but whomever comes by will be worth the wait.
As a prelude to Halloween, Andy and I went to 30 Days of Night. It was definitely scary. I thought I was going to have nightmares. I guess I am more used vampire movies that depict the high society/historical view, rather than the dark and evil view. Nevertheless, it was a good evening out.

My Week at a Glance
My week was fairly slow, yet relaxing. After my busy Thanksgiving weekend, I think I needed a little 'me' time.
I managed to get caught up with my shows - Heroes & Bionic Woman. I find it odd to talk about 'my shows' since I haven't really watched any amount of cable in probably the last 6 or 7 years. But Mr. J & I enjoy watching them together.
I missed volleyball on Monday because of the holiday, and our Thursday league game was canceled, however I did get back to my bowling last night and did O.K. My week at the gym was much needed considering the amount of food I ate on the weekend. I tend to eat out more than I would like to when I'm back in Toon town. Then again, it is probably the only 'restaurant eating' I do. I never go out here at home. I guess that is good for the wallet.
Today I've got a fairly busy planned. Eventually I'm going to head out to get my oil changed. I will also probably wander over to Michael's. I am starting to think about Christmas gifts, and there is a bunch of Halloween stuff on sale that I noticed in the flyer this morning. I am going to decorate my house for Halloween today, and then Andrea is coming over later for supper. We are going to make ourselves some homemade pizza and then catch a movie - Michael Clayton. We both thought it looked good when we saw the previews awhile back, and reviews look good too.
And that's my day.

Movies & Shows
In between:
First, SUPERBAD. Go see it. It's hilarious. Well, at least for the first hour or so. The humour tapered off near the middle, and didn't really come back. At least not at the level it was in the beginning. But it definitely made me & Mr. J laugh out loud.
Secondly, Stardust. A romantic, fairy tale love story. I think I had way too many descriptors in that last sentence, but I don't care. It was a wonderful movie. I was full of 'aahhhhs' and smiles as soon as it ended. Mr. J liked it, but my brother thought it was full of 'cheese.' It was great. I've become a mushy romantic, and I love it.
Thirdly, Fracture. This court drama with Anthony Hopkins and Ryan Gosling was interesting. Anthony's character plays games with the justice system, and ends up getting away with murdering his wife. Although it was based on US law, it was interesting to be able to point out all the inconsistencies and half-truths regarding the law and investigation, being that I just finished with my jury duty.
As for Arrested Development, it's still good. Even though this is my 3rd time through the first disc. But this time I got to watch it with my sweetie, who appears to find it just as entertaining as I.
Bionic Woman looks good, so I think I will start watching it. I think I have another episode to catch up on before tomorrow night.
- visiting with BB & Nicole
- the wedding
- visiting with Mr. & Mrs. Drang, and
- Thanksgiving supper with the family

Finally...Deliberations
Well, the end is finally drawing near for me and this trial. It has definitely been a experience...a roller coaster of events and emotions. As this part of my life draws to a close, I can honestly say that I will look at the world around me very differently. I never expected such an event would have such an impact on my life, but it has.
For those of you who have burning questions regarding the trial, you'll have to just sit down with me for a chat, as I am not going to post any of the juicy/graphic details on this blog. I will happily tell you all about my experience, that's if you really want to know, as I am sure it will help get a few things out for myself. I never realized how difficult it can be on a person when they have absolutely no outlet to vent or discuss ones day. Whether it is talking to a friend, spouse, partner..whomever, everyone needs to unwind at the end of the day....talk about their day. I haven't been able to talk about my day for the last 4 weeks. That's tough, and I am looking forward to getting some of it out to anyone who is interested in listening. My friend A already offered her listening ear, however I believe a bottle of wine was part of the arrangement. :)
I may be absent for a few days, but it isn't like I post everyday, so I am sure you won't even notice.
I will be heading back to Saskatoon this coming weekend for a wedding and Thanksgiving celebrations. It's a busy weekend, and it seems that I've always got events to go to that prevent me from seeing everyone I would like to. But, I hope to catch up with some of my friends.
You know that feeling you get when suddenly you realize that everything is going to be 'OK'? I had that last night, it was wonderful. I guess some things do just take time.
