Anniversary Celebrations, Part One

Our anniversary isn't actually today, it was on the 1st, but today was the only free day we both had to try and fit in some sort of celebration.

I have known for awhile now that there were surprises in store for me today. I awoke early to the smell of freshly brewed coffee and Jeff letting me know that we needed to be somewhere by 10:00. I had myself a couple cups of coffee, glanced at the newspaper, visited with Jeff, cleaned up and we were out the door.

The surprises in store for me were a massage, pedicure and manicure. The morning started off with a awesome massage (I have never had one). It was great! Jeff returned and we had a quick bit to eat at the Fox & Hounds before returning for the second half of my pamper day. Once we returned I received a pedicure and manicure - which I also have never had. It was nice. Not sure if I will ever do it again (me associating those kinds of things with being a girly girl, and me not really being that type), but it was definitely a nice treat as a gift. Thanks Jeff!

I received some nice flowers from Jeff and my silver locket that Jeff gave me for our wedding. It never actually had any pictures in the locket - but now it does. Another nice surprise.

For this afternoon some relaxation and then off to supper. Supper is my surprise. Not much of a surprise - just a place we have never been and Jeff doesn't know where we are going.

Man.
I am *totally* not a 'girly girl', but massage doesn't bugger up that image at all. My health plan pays for massage therapy, which I partake of whenever I can. I'm a little sad that I don't get "reflexology" paid for, but you know, the neck and back rubs that last an hour without having to beg or cajole (or bake cookies first) is really nice.

Never having had a pedicure, manicure, or facial (those are in the 'girly girl' category), I can't say what they're like, although I've heard they're nice. And I do know some heterosexual men who do them regularly. Or, at least, meterosexual.

Anyhow, happy anniversary, and keep up with the massage - it cures all ills. Or ails.

Yeah! The massage was pretty sweet.

I will likely try that out again sometime.

It is definitely a plus not having beg or cajole. Plus, massage therapist know exactly what they are doing. You don't really have to tell them where to go and what to do.
