Jeff & I went to Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan for the first time tonight. The Medieval Feast entertained us with food, fencing, dancing, and a wonderful rendition of Romeo & Juliet. The fencing and dancing was put on by the Society for Creative Anachronism. Good entertainment. You know, I never thought that I would be able to say "I saw Rob Simpson bounce around with a rapier and poofy pants."
As for the play - absolutely wonderful! For starters, this is my favourite play so I am a little biased. From what I can remember from Grade 9 English, it was bang on! The acting was very well done, especially the role of the nurse. She was very comedic, and added a lot of spice to the show. Three of the actors that were in the play were also in another play that I saw recently, so it was interesting to compare the different roles they played.
For anyone who has never gone to S on the S, I highly recommend it. It gets an A+ from me.

Geek taking over... Can't control...
The actual line is "O Romeo, Romeo wherefore art thou Romeo?"
As in, why are you a Montague? Why are you what you are?
Sorry, one it's one of the most misquoted lines and it actually is much more potent in its corrected form.
I'm glad that it was good though. I would really like to go see it since it is also one of my all time favorite Shakespeare plays.
Thanks Ril! It has been corrected.
I actually was question myself as I wrote it, and had a pretty good feeling that I was getting it wrong, but it was late and I was too lazy at the time to look up the original quote. So thanks again!
Well, if I had known you wanted to see it, we could have planned better. Oh well, I do hope you get to it.
