Well today is our last full day with Amy & Randy. We have had a lot of fun since we have been here and have managed to squeeze a lot of things in.
Yesterday we spent the day in San Francisco. We jumped the Caltrain just after 8 am, and arrived in San Francisco around 9:45 am. We walked through the touristy parts, past Union Square, through China Square, to make are way to the Pier. Our first stop was Ghirardelli Square. It used to be an old chocolate factory, but has since been turned into a tourist place with many shops, restaurants, and of course, a chocolate shop. By the time we arrived at the square we were all pretty much ready to chew our arms off, so we stopped for lunch. Jeff did a wonderful job scouting out the first seafood restaurant we saw, McCormick & Schmick's. I don't think I have had that good of a meal since I was last on the coast. You can't NOT eat seafood when you are this close to the ocean, Randy! Due to us likely returning late from our Alcatraz trip, we weren't sure exactly when we would have a chance to eat supper, so we pigged out. First, we started with the Jonah Crab & Bay Shrimp Artichoke Dip with Toasted Walnut Bread. For the main course, Amy had this amazing Halibut, Jeff got the Fettucini Alfredo with shrimps & scallops, and I ate this wonderful Salmon stuffed with crab & brie. It was a excellent way to spend lunch.
For the remainder of the afternoon, we wondered around the piers. We tried to stay away from as many touristy events and activities as we could. The only touristy activity we did was Alcatraz. It was soo awesome, but sooo short. We took the last tour of the day and it was way too short. We will have to make sure we do it again the next time we come to visit. Stay tuned for some cool pictures.
Today's events involve the Winchester Mystery House and maybe some time at the beach in Santa Cruz.

McCormick & Kuleto's (as it's now known) is one of the best places around. I recommend the Escolar and the Ahi appetizer. A picture from my first visit!
