Happy New Year!

Once again Jeff & I hosted our annual New Year's Eve Party. This year was actually year number 10. I have been in Saskatoon for 10 years, and have had a party every year. It is a good tradition.

The day started off with making some jello shooters for the party. Once they were in the fridge we began the Trailer Park Boys drinking game. Brennan, Laura, Jeff & I watched about 5 episodes over the course of 2 1/2 hours, and that was plenty. I think we all made a smart choice to stop around 6:30, so that we could try to be coherent once the other guests started to arrive. I didn't make myself another drink for the rest of the night, though I had plenty of jello shooters.

Alan, our first guest, arrived shortly after 7, and it wasn't much longer after he arrived before we were playing Dutch Blitz. I remember playing it once before over at the Temperance house and having a lot of fun with it, so I was gungho at playing again. We really should have had Alan use a handicap, as he whooped Carla, Laura, and myself each game. I don't think I have sworn that much since our frineds were here from Edmonton. I left the table pretty frustrated.

The rest of the evening was pretty much full of visiting, and Settlers of Catan. I wasn't really too interested in playing, but those who were quite familiar with the game taught her how to play...and it wasn't long before she was hooked. I think they played 3 games, and she still wanted to play more. She convinced Rob & I to play. It wasn't too bad of a game. It probably would have been better if I wasn't so tired and full of jello.

There wasn't too much drinking happening, so the jello shooters were a little much. There was a lot left over, and I was beginning to wonder what I would do with them. Since Rob had arrived late, he needed to catch up. I challenged him to polishing off the jello shooters with me. Since he was behind, I drank one for each of his 2. Duncan was nice enough to help out, since I think there was about 28 shooters left. So much jello......not sure if I want to do that again. They all went straight to my head.

Even though we just saw some of our ex-Saskatoonian friends, I think I was just a little bit sad, as this was the first time Amy, Randy and Bne were not at the party.

Check out party pictures here. Suprisingly, there a quite a few pictures of myself. Odd, as I am usually the picture taker, but last night a few others were having fun playing around with the camera.

Good times!

Glad you all had fun at your annual bash. I don't think I've ever done ANYTHING for more than two years in a row...my record at this point could very well be kidlet birthday parties and Christmas.

Why aren't there any pictures of the jello shooters? And none of anyone in their underpants....what's going on here?

I remember different New Years parties...

well, so do I. But Bne wasn't there and neither was Tom-Ass.

I am sure that would explain some of it.

Sky was also missing, however he has been quite tame for the last few years.
