4 movies, 2.5 reviews

So, I have fallen a little behind on the review of movies this week.

Two nights ago we attempted to watch another one of the 7 movies we had rented on Saturday. I am not sure why, but Jeff selected Starship Troopers 2. He was aware that it was going to be bad, but not 'turnoffthetv' bad. IMDb was generous and gave it a 3.5/10.

My rating: 0/10

My recommendation: First of all, I didn't even want to watch it. I knew it was going to be bad. When Jeff & I began to look at one another for longer periods than the tv, it was time to shut it off. I think that took about 5 minutes. However, we felt bad and figured we give it another 15 minutes. It didn't get any better. Don't even think twice about this movie, it SUCKED!

After wasting time on that movie, we figured we pop in another one of our selections. We had heard great things about Bowling for Columbine and was looking forward to watching it. Alas, the disc was scratched all to hell, and was unreadable in our PlayStation2. Argh.

Ok. Third times the charm, right! Well, we managed to get through 21 Grams in a couple of sittings, but overall I would have to say I wasn't all that fond of it. Jeff didn't like it right from the start, however must have been entertained enough to stick around. I suppose I could say I was curious about the movie. The story was told using various cut scenes from the past, present and future. I kinda wanted to know how the whole thing played out. However, as far as entertainment value goes, boo-urns.

My rating: 4/10

My recommendation: Although I watched it til the end, it was a weird and quite despressing movie. I wish I would have rented something else, so do that.

Tonight we watched another one of Jeff's selections RoboCop. I don't think I have ever seen this movie, and if I have it has been so long that I do not recall. It was entertaining. Cyborgs are pretty cool.

My rating: 7/10

My recommendation: A good renter for new and old viewers.
