The Upside

Even though I did not advance with Telus, I seem to be making quite an impression with the job in Edmonton.

They called yesterday to set up an interview with the Executive Director for next week. They are flying me up next Wednesday.

It is going to be one hell of a day, with flying out at 630 in the morning and not returning until 830 that night. But it will all be worth it if I can get this job.

I know that there will be lots of people sad to see us go, but happy to see us come to Edmonton. It is hard when friends move away. I am not doing that great as it is with most of my close friends far away.

Well, working for pure evil would mean that I would have to get a job with Wal-Mart. But I am sure Telus is a mighty servant of the devil.

what are the chances they'd let you work in Saskatoon instead of moving to Edmonton? I mean, would you really *have* to physically be in their corporate HQ every day?

It is imperative to the job that I live in Edmonton. There is extensive collaboration and planning with other team leaders and I am sure they don't want to have to pay me to fly back and forth all the time. Although I will be doing a lot of design and development, which doesn't necessarily require a specific location, I will also be responsible for doing training in and around the Edmonton area.

Moving to Alberta is not the most ideal situation that I saw myself in, but a gotta work. I am going crazy and we are getting deeper and deeper into debt.

You'll just have to come for a visit. Just don't tell Bne you are coming. :)

Heh. Considering how much work it is to visit *Saskatoon*, we'll be planning that one years in advance...by the time we get out there, you'll probably already have moved home...that is...if they don't just say, "you know, you can just stay in Saskatoon and sit on the couch and knit, and we'll just send you some money every couple of weeks".

I'm going to write a nasty letter to the Province of Saskatchewan because they didn't hire you and now you'll have to leave.

What's the deal with your comments? I clicked on your comments link, and got nothing, and then I clicked on 'leave a comment' to complain, and I could read people's comments, but not when I actually wanted to read them.

So, what's the deal?

Also, best of luck on the Telus thingummer.
