What a Weekend

I had my first real visitor this weekend. MFJ arrived Friday night just in time for supper. Being the good host that I am, I decided to go all out for supper. It has been sometime since I have had the pleasure of cooking a nice meal for someone, and I do enjoy watching people eating pretty much anything I cook. So I decided to make stuffed mushrooms, and chicken breasts stuffed with cream cheese, spinach and crab with a side of asparagus and hollandaise sauce. It was delicious. It was the first time I had even made stuffed chicken breasts and they turned out perfectly. I am always worried about drying out the chicken breasts, but I managed to cook them just right. The rest of the evening was spent talking and watching movies. I don't think I liked Children of Men.

Saturday was a busy day. We took in the Telus World of Science, tried to do some shopping, ate at this amazing cajun diner, Dadeo's, on Whyte Ave, and took in a play: Antony & Cleopatra at the Walterdale Playhouse. I had never seen this play before and I quite liked it. It was naughtier and funnier than I was expecting, but excellent nevertheless.

Sunday started off fairly lazy with a late Sunday breakfast. But by the afternoon we were headed over to West Edmonton Mall to do some shooting. MFJ & I didn't do that bad gunning down the zombies that were after us at the Wild West Shooting Centre. They broke through the doors somehow and took everyone else out. Taking our knowledge on zombies into consideration, we wiped them out fairly quickly by shooting them in the head.

We ended off Sunday by taking in Hot Fuzz. All I can say is: GO SEE IT!!!!! Awesome...Odd...Hilarious...Bizarre. It's a keeper. I can't wait til it comes out on DVD. My only recommendation is that you go and see it before you hear too much about the movie. It is much more fun to see when you have no idea what to expect; especially with this movie.

Now to prepare for next weekend when my parents come to visit.
