Party On Dude!

Last night we hosted another awesome party. It wasn't as large as it usually is, but it was a good time.

Carla showed up early - around 8:30, and we had a good visit with her before everyone else showed up. She was off to work at the 7-11 for her 10pm-5am. Sucky!

Around 9:00pm everyone else started to trickle in. Brennan and Tyson showed up with beer, Sky & Terry came with Zeda, and Amy & Suzi arrived with their bathing suits in tow.

It didn't take long before Amy & Suzi joined Carla in the hot tub, and the rest of us enjoyed a riveting game of Hoopla.

Sky & Terry brought Hoopla - and interactive game of providing clues in order to guess the Who, What or Where item on the cards. What made the game fun was the four ways in which you could provide the clues:
Soundstage - requires you to use gestures and sound effects only
Tweener - must phrase clues using "its bigger than a ..... but smaller than a"
Tongues Tied - using alliterations
Cloodle - required you to draw

There were definitely some moments to remember - Sky's rendition of Mick Jagger was awesome, it took me about 2 seconds to guess who it was. Tyson did an great job of portraying Lance Armstrong, and Amy's 7-11 clue was quite unique and creative. All in all, everyone seemed to have a great time.

Denis & Deb joined the party in the midst of our Hoopla game, as did Duncan, Alan, and Quinn.

With a quick break after Hoopla, it was onto another game. Kaiser was next, and Deb & I teamed up against Sky and Alan. Sky & Alan whooped our butts, but we definitely made it interesting with our team winning a couple of "No" hands. When it comes to Kaiser I rarely bet, I usually leave it up to my partner, and when I do bet someone usually ends up taking the bet away from me. So without having much success in betting, or even achieving the bet, I was very impressed with making the "No" hands. Yeah Marcia!

By the time Kaiser was over it was about 12:30am, and I hadn't had a chance to visit the hot tub. Tyson, Quinn, and Duncan had been enjoying it since the end of the Hoopla game and I was ready to partake.

It was a little chilly out, but the hot tub was warm and comforting. It had definitely gone down a lot in temperature, due to it being used for a number of hours. We currently have it set at 104, however it was only at 101 when I got in.

The guys were definitely enjoying themselves, as the yard was littered with beer bottles. It is going to be interesting cleaning up the lawn in the spring. How much partying did go on in the winter?

Brennan rejoined us in the hot tub, and Quinn left. Shortly after, someone - I think Brennan - had the bright idea of jumping in the snow and then returning to the tub. What the hell I thought - how bad could it be. We all got out - Brennan, Tyson, Duncan and myself and quickly headed for the snow. Just as I thought that I was cold enough Brennan tackled me, and I went down - cold and covered in snow. I headed back to the tub as quickly as possible - Brennan wasn't as lucky, as Tyson came up behind him and tackled him. Within a minute, we were all safely back in the hot tub. Now you wouldn't think the cold would be that bad, as you get right back into the hot tub. But if you can imagine having rub burn over your entire body - that is pretty much what it felt like for the next 10-15 minutes. Not sure if I will ever do that again.

Once the burning subsided we retired to the basement and watched Joe Dirt. Duncan, Quinn, and Brennan had never seen the movie, so I decided to enlighten them with some white trash entertainment. I think my favorite part of that whole movie is Christopher Walken - he is so creepy, even in a comedy like Joe Dirt.

By 3:00am everyone was pretty zonked. Duncan and Quinn left, and Tyson & Brennan crashed for the night.

Good times were had by all!
