A Performance...I guess

Last night our drama class started doing our final presentations - a lip sync. I was a little worried when we first got the assignment, but it seemed to come together nicely. Not long after we were given the assignment (about 2 weeks ago) *the* song just popped into my head, and I didn't really think about doing any other song. It was a song I already knew about - I had seen the video on CMT (yes, I know..COUNTRY) when I was in one of my many hotel rooms this past winter. So I didn't need to memorize the words, I already knew them. It was simply putting together some sort of story to go with the words. The words tell enough of a story that I just played off of that. And it just kinda came together.

The song was Lee Ann Womack's 'I May Hate Myself in the Morning'. If you are interested in checking out the song and the lyrics, go here.

I will give a quick run down of the story I portrayed. I begin in my bed thinking about last night and *him*. I look over at the picture on the bedside table, pick up the picture, and then throw it away. Trying to forget and discarding memories of *him*. I get out of bed and head to the kitchen where I poor myself a big glass of rum - looking to drown my sorrow and guilt away. I return to the bedroom where I pick up my journal to write about *last night*. I also stop to pause when I read something I wrote earlier - something happy. I continue to wrtie in my journal, sign off, throw my journal away, and finish off my rum.

The recap probably doesn't mean much to you. Then again it was a performance, I guess you would have had to seen it. But if you can visualize, that is what it was.

I was excited and nervous at the same time, but all in all I think I enjoyed doing it. It was very interesting to watch the others perform, and find out what songs they picked. Our little Italian girl - Angelina, picked a wonderful song and did an excellent job of playing a chef who is love with a girl - Angelina. It was the best performance of the night!

Now to just sit back and relax for the next 2 classes, and then our final exam is on Tuesday next week. I am kinda sad that it is ending. I have had a lot of fun, and met a lot of really good people. Boy, do I miss school! I am definitely gonna miss the yoga we do every class. I just might have to get myself enrolled in a yoga class for the rest of the summer.
