Yesterday I spent most of the day with my best buddy. We went out intending to *people watch* in order to get some good observations for our drama class journal assignment, but I think we spent more time talking then watching. We hit the Timothy's coffee shop in Midtown Plaza, thinking the mall would be a great place to watch. There were some things that caught our eye - the number of little kid posses, a daughter with *way to much* makeup on and a couple of little old ladies sitting behind us. After coffee we continued the afternoon with a walk around the mall. I got the chance to visit with one of my Biggar buddies who was hanging out waitin' for his wife to get done shopping. I haven't seen Chad in 10 years and now I see him twice in the last 3 weeks - weird.
We left the mall and continued our observations, walking and talking down by the river. We went all the way to the Weir, as I hadn't seen what everyone was talking about - you can't see the Weir.
We headed back to his place and stopped at City Perk for another coffee. I think we sat there for 2 hours just talking. It was awesome. I haven't had that good of a talk with a friend in a really long time. It was nice to have someone be interested in the things you say, the ambitions you have, and the concerns you feel for others around you.
After a good long afternoon of visiting (mostly) we headed back to his place and watched some King of the Hill with his roommates.
That evening him and his girlfriend joined us for games. We played The Hills Rise Wild. It was a long game, but worth every second. I was controlling the Whaterly Clan, and they sure didn't want to die, especially The Hound. His barking kept him resilent against Cpt. Marsh. However he did fall near the end of the game. I wasn't really trying to get the Necronomican back to my summoning circle, I just wanted to squash Jeff's clan. The game finally ended with Brennan winning the game. Kudos to Brennan!
All in all a great day!
