lazy, lazy long weekend

We ended up leaving Friday morning. Tyler & Brennan picked me up around 10:30, and after a stop at Tim Horton's we were on our way.

We arrived at Tomas' place around 1:30 and found Tomas to still be asleep. He was partying pretty late, I mean early (he got home at 9:30 am). It was nice of him to rise once we got there. It didn't take us long to get settled and we were changed and into the boat. We met some of Tomas' friends on the lake for socializing and beers. I got to witness the infamous 'diaper beers', but alas did not part take. Later we ended up dropping T-ass's boat off at the dock, jumped in Matt's boat to go further out into the lake. T-ass's 5hp motor just would't cut it I think. We got about a 1/4 of the way to our destination and Matt's engine seized up. I guess there is a few good things about cell phones, and it isn't just about winter highway driving. With a storm coming and us stuck in the middle of the lake, Matt's cellphone came in real handy. T-ass called up his friends and they were on there way. For the next 30 hour we relaxed, drank beer, enjoyed Pavo's (T-ass friend) guitar playing, and T-ass singing while receiving a tow back to the dock. An eventful afternoon.

Friday evening ended with a barbeque at T-ass's, and and fire over at Jordan's sisters cabin. Brennan & I headed back to the cabin around midnight, and stayed up chatting. One piece of advice - you must be forceful and loud when Tyson is drunk and snoring. There is no asking him nicely to 'shut the hell up', 'quit snoring', and 'turn over, dammit.'

Saturday was even lazier. With the guys getting back around 3:30am the night before and most of us waking up around 10:30, there wasn't a lot of sleep that was had - by me anyways. I lazed around eating breakfast, studying for my GMAT, dozing, watching Simpsons, dozing, reading, boating - though it wasn't long because of the rain, walking, and more dozing. The most activity I had yesterday was getting out on the lake with everyone to watch the fireworks - they were very impressive. We then headed over to the bar, and once again Brennan & I chatted it up on the beach while everyone else got drunk and loud in the bar. Brennan & I headed back around 2am, and the rest trickled in around 4am.

It was an early morning - 9:30, and we were ready to leave. We stop for breakfast/lunch at Humpty's in P.A, drove through a pretty nasty rain storm around Rosthern and were home by 1pm. All in all, a good relaxing weekend.

Today, I continued my laziness with CoH all afternoon and just finished watching Hitch with Jeff.
