Cowtown

I spent the week in Calgary for work, and it was beautiful. Temperatures were on the plus side all week - I think it got up to +9 on Wednesday.

My seminar classes were great, and the people were awesome. I had some pretty small groups, and I actually like that I little better because you get a lot more participation from the class and it becomes a little more personal and relaxed. It was a good week for work!

I saw my best friend Jennifer and her boyfriend Chad on Monday night for supper and a short visit. I hadn't seen Jen since the beginning of December and was starting to miss her terribly. When she first moved to Calgary about 7 years ago I was really sad, and I missed her a lot. You tend to get that way when you have been friends as long as we have (25yrs). I eventually I got use to it, and seeing each other a couple times a year, and phoning on a regular basis became the norm. However, since I have had my job with Federated Co-op I have been able to see Jen just about once a month for the past 3 years. So this was the longest stretch between visits. Anyways, back to my week in Calgary.

Tuesday was quiet - dinner with an friend from Calgary Co-op, and a little City of Heroes. I now have Neuba up to Lvl 10. I just need to learn how not to die, and team up with people that can help me with that.

I had a blast hanging out with Ben on Wednesday. We went shopping to furnish his home, and did pretty well at The Brick - buying a bed, sofa and loveseat. We had a great dinner at the Metropolitan Grill on 17th Ave, and good talk about life, love, and relationships. We finished off the evening with a big trek up to the NW to a specialty liquor store so Ben could buy obscene amounts of wine. All in all it was a great way to spend my last night in Cowtown, and see Ben. We miss you Ben!
